Hailsham Town Council has confirmed the full trader and entertainment program for its Christmas Lights Switch-On on Friday, November 27. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. around Vicarage Field and Hailsham High Street, with the lights scheduled to switch on at 6 p.m.
This is a substantive update to the council’s October 13 announcement, which set the event date and described a general market and live program. The council now says trader spaces are fully booked, names the performers and confirms actor Jonathan Linsley will lead the switch-on ceremony.

The confirmed line-up includes performances by The Sussex Stompers and Con Brio, carols from pupils at Hailsham Academy and Hailsham Academy Primary, a visit from Father Christmas, and a live broadcast from Hailsham FM. Market stalls will feature local makers and independent traders selling crafts, festive decorations, flowers, homeware and other gifts. Food options include mulled wine, hot chocolate, marshmallows and meals from local vendors.
The lights will be switched on by Linsley, known for appearing as Ogilvey in two Pirates of the Caribbean films. Hailsham High Street is due to close to traffic from around 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. to support the event.
