Marble Falls Shelves Its Planned 2026 Glory Tree Project

Marble Falls, Texas, will not move forward with the proposed Glory Tree installation for the 2026 Christmas season. In an October 16 update, the city said it and World Icon had not finalized key project requirements and logistics in time for the remaining preparation window. The city said the parties may revisit the possibility of an installation in 2027, with discussions expected after the new year.

The decision changes the plan announced by Marble Falls in September, when officials introduced the record-setting tree proposal. The cancellation concerns the Glory Tree project; the city’s separate Walkway of Lights is continuing.

The first shipment of new Walkway displays had arrived, with installation scheduled to begin November 2 and a planned opening on November 20 at 6 p.m.
