The Mount Dora Boating Center & Marina in Florida says it is ending its annual Christmas light display after more than three decades. The Lewis family’s decision means the marina’s waterfront installation will not return for the 2026 holiday season.

A long-running private display comes to a close
WFTV reports that marina owner Joe Lewis spent decades building the display, which had grown to more than one million lights in recent years. The family said he is ready to slow down and spend more time with relatives during the holidays. The announcement describes a permanent end to the marina display, rather than a pause for this season.
The change concerns the marina’s own waterfront attraction. Mount Dora’s separate Lighted Boat Christmas Parade, organized by Rusty Anchor, is still listed for December 5, 2026, on the organizer’s official site. The two light attractions should not be confused.
