Pittsburgh Names 38-Foot Blue Spruce as Its 113th City Christmas Tree

Pittsburgh has selected a 38-foot blue spruce from the Brighton Heights neighborhood as the city's 113th official Christmas tree. The property owner donated the tree, which is scheduled to be moved to the City-County Building in November.

WPXI reported on October 11, 2026, that city officials announced the selection on Saturday. The tree will be illuminated during the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership's Light Up Night. The City of Pittsburgh's earlier announcement confirms the ceremony date of November 21, 2026, and describes the annual tree as the only live outdoor tree in Downtown.

After the holiday season, Pittsburgh plans to recycle the tree into mulch for city parks, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1913.
